CASING PIPE PULLING AND RUNNING UNIT

A customer approached Delta Tech with a technical assignment to design a device to hold the pipe in a stationary position in a technological well to allow vertical coupling in a technological line. This piece of equipment is to simulate an oil well.

The equipment is to preform multiple cycles of making-and-breaking of test specimens of oilfield pipes and collars, and the external surface of tested specimens is not to be deformed during fixation.

PURPOSE

The rig is for the positioning and fixation of pipes vertically to enable making or breaking of threaded connections with premium threads in a vertical assembly rig simulating a well.

When not in use, the pit is fully covered with protective lids.

In the top part of the frame are four pneumatic cylinders. These may travel along the guides in the horizontal plane depending on the pipe diameter (three positions). On the rods of the pneumatic cylinders are replaceable clamps.

The movable support is a frame structure with a plate for the initial centering of the specimen (pipe) relative to the vertical axis. On the support there are two pairs of vertically mounted rollers that travel in the guides. Two pairs of other rollers mounted from the side of the hoist also travel along the guides and prevent the skew of the movable support.

The rig is an assembly mounted in the pit and attached in the lower part of the pit and to the walls of the pit with anchors. On the frame, there are two guides made from C-beams and ladders for installation works and rig maintenance. Along the frame, a movable support (elevator) traves which bears the weight of pipe. In the top part of the frame, there are two stationary electrical hoists.
