Rotating tool machine

The CNC machine DES eRT Series is used for the whole range of turning jobs: cutting premium class threaded connections, lathe turning, boring, facing, axial drilling, core drilling, and reaming. It is used to machine the external and internal cylindrical, conical and contoured surfaces as well as facing surfaces of rotated parts.

PURPOSE

The special feature of the machine is the driven boring head allowing for turning of blanks and pipes with precision up to 2 µm to cut Premium and Ultra Premium class threads.

The blank remaining fixed, the machine is capable of machining parts of any length weighing up to 15 tons, with passes along the spindle.

Robust and reliable design ensures long-term sustainable operation.

Large diameter over the base plate enables the machine to turn large blanks (520 mm in spindle opening, 535 mm in jaw clamp).

The machine may be delivered in stationary or in mobile design (marked M in the machine name), packed in a 20 ft container prepared for operation in the conditions of extreme North.

The principle of operation is rotation of the spindle head with cutting tool around the pipe or the blank. The cutting diameter is controlled with the CNC unit relative to the axial and radial position of the tool.

The assembled system comprises and CNC turning machine (capable of cutting the thread on casing pipes with diameters up to 20”), a CNC unit (Fig. 1) (other systems may be installed including the Baltsystems), a hydraulic pipe feed system, swarf conveyor and forced coolant supply system with treatment unit.
